HYPERFLEX FOR HYPERCONVERGENCE
Cisco added software defined storage to its UCS platform and created the HyperFlex line of systems. Cisco Hyperflex extends the simplicity of hyperconvergence from core to edge and multicloud, putting IT at the center of rapid innovation in a world where data is everywhere. Cisco HyperFlex delivers the agility, scalability, and pay-as-you-grow economics of the cloud, but with the benefits of on-premises infrastructure.
HyperFlex allows customers to run any application in any cloud and scale quickly and easily, now up to 64 nodes.
Cisco provides integration of multiple services into HyperFlex, including AppDynamics for performance monitoring across multiple clouds; application placement with Cisco Workload Optimization Manager; and cloud mobility with CloudCenter. Cisco also allows private cloud self-service Infrastructure-as-a-Service capabilities to developers and administrators.
Cisco has added Microsoft Hyper-V support, so that the Microsoft hypervisor is now offered alongside VMware’s ESXi hypervisor for customers to have a choice between the two.
HyperFlex provides the needed power for mission critical workloads. HyperFlex runs SAP, MS databases in SQL, Oracle, and HANA.
HOLISTIC HYPERCONVERGED STRATEGY
HyperFlex is integrated with Intersight, Cisco’s cloud-based management platform; Turbononomics for automation and management; and Veeam for backup, disaster recovery, and data management. These software integrations – as well as CloudCenter and AppDynamics – give Cisco’s customers a holistic HCI (hyperconverged) offering.
